As society progresses, advertisements inevitably affect our lives. While ads by some considered as beneficial development and helpful at making consumer choices, by others they are seen as negative impact. In my opinion, this phenomenon could be seen as beneficial.
From one standpoint, several negative impacts are affecting to consumers’ behavior. Firstly, by promoting products everywhere, through social places, digital communication tools, and at streets, people are undeniably exposed to absorb excess of information, which is certainly overwhelming. Additionally, excessive information challenges the process of choosing and evaluating the means of different products. Secondly, advertisements enhance the tendency of decision fatigue, where consumers have higher likelihood of choosing items that do not align with their actual needs and requirements. For example, at least once a month we face discounts and special offers at local and online markets, such as “Buy one get another Free”, which even worsens the consumer’s position while making purchase.
On the other hand, positive sides of advertisements exceed negative impacts. One benefit influence of too much advertising on consumers is increased awareness and choice. Immense exposure of individuals provides a wide range of products and services, which they can bear in mind and use when needed, as well as expands consumers’ awareness, ensuring they have access to a plethora of options. Furthermore, by being exposed to different advertisements with various contexts, consumers are allowed to make more informed decisions and choices aligned with needs, preferences, budgets. Consequently, conscious purchase saves money and security of consumers about their spendings. In conclusion, i suppose the phenomenon that advertisements are badly affecting to consumers behaviour is false, because positive aspects far mor exceeding.
