It has thought that with the increase in development of technology, citizens in the 21th century will have an huge increase in free time. Personally, I think that this prediction can come true because of the how fast technology has advanced.
Firstly, since the 21th century has arrived, technology has been advanced fast, and it is going to get even more advance. For example, back in the day around 20th century, computers didn’t do anything useful like typing essay, designing pictures compared to computer nowadays. Another example is that television in the 20th century is thick, heavy, and can only display black and white compared to television nowaday with slim, lightweight design and full color. Phones also has turned into smartphone by making them touchscreen and have a powerfull chip to power the operating system
Similarly, technology, specifically AI or Artificial Intelligence could replace jobs. For example, there is a machine that can replace humans by making coffee or drink autonomously without using human hands. Another example, Elun Musk has invented cars that can drive by its own but you need a driver to sit in the driver seat just in case of an accident, but also he recently introduced cars and buses that has no streeing wheel and pedals to replace taxi and bus drivers. Open AI, an AI company, also has made a chatbot that can talk to people fluently and also created a bot that can generate picture and drawings.
In conclution, I think that with the increase in development of technology, citizens will have much more free time, because of how technology has advanced fast and also can replace jobs, thanks to Artificial Intelligence.
