Supermarkets are in demand in real life. Can large supermarkets cause the closure of local shops? I partially agree. In this essay I will give and explain my opinion on this issue.
On the one hand, huge supermarkets offer a wide range of products at lower prices, which make profit of shopping for customers. They have financial possibilities for regular sales, bonus programs, and discounts. Also large supermarkets have comfort conditions for people, such as spacious halls, modern self-checkouts and long time work. That is really hard to make in small markets.
On the other hand, in contrast, little markets frequently are in trouble with rivalry, because they have limited budgets, less warehouse areas and more increased prices for purchases. And above all, tiny shops also have some advantages. For example, convenient locations and fresh goods. In some cases, they can exist due to local customers and specialization on unique products. People usually go to minimarkets for some little things, like bread, water and so on. Thanks to such small human needs, small markets will prosper.
Thus, however large supermarkets can be the death of groceries, but their disappearance depends on many factors, like demand, business adaptation and support from the local community. In my opinion, minimarkets can only adapt to their customer base.
