Every year, a progressively higher number of individuals leave their home country to reside in a foreign land. These people are often presented with multitude of challenges with language barrier being the most significant among them. I believe an inability to communicate eloquently in the local dialect causes them to face difficulties in both professional and personal life, however these problems are short-lived as new languages can be learned.
A vital requirement of assimilating in any community is meeting the natives and making friends, this requires effective communication that can only be achieved by a strong grasp of their language. A lack of it, makes socializing significantly more difficult and can cause the person to become isolated. The feeling of loneliness combined with the unfamilarity of the culture of an alien land causes a significant psychological impact. Furthermore, most professional enviorments require employees that can correspond confidently and clearly with people. As a result, finding a job can become a colossal struggle. The consequent financial and mental strain can lead to feelings of dissatisfaction and disappointment.
Eventhough, the aforementioned factors can have an exceptional impact on the self-confidence of a person, a proof of human intelligence is their ability to learn new skills.Likewise, learning a language is complex but possible. They can do this by enrolling themselves in a relevant class which will help them to improve their conversational and comprehension skills, and give them an opportunity to meet people with similar struggles.
To recapitulate, immigrating to a new land with a distinct language can initially cause plethora of problems but with the right mindset people can overcome these obstacles.
