In the modern era, many individuals believe we should prevent some flights that consume a huge amount of fuel for long distances and non-essential transportation, which other vehicles may use in a year. I totally disagree with this statement based on some reasons I will explain in this essay.
There are two main reasons why we shouldn’t ban flights around the world for unnecessary air transport, such as tourism. First and foremost, humans need to explore new resorts to gain new information and learn about the deep culture of different countries, which can boost their knowledge and global awareness. Experiencing diverse traditions, languages, and historical sites helps individuals develop a broader perspective and appreciation for cultural diversity. For instance, I went to Egypt, which has many picturesque sites with valuable heritage, such as the pyramids. I gained many facts about their civilization and how the pharaohs built their dynasty. I can never imagine being banned from observing this place just because of fuel consumption.
What is more, tourism plays a crucial role in the economy of many countries, providing employment opportunities and supporting local businesses. Many nations rely on revenue from international visitors to sustain their hospitality, transportation, and cultural industries. For example, in my country, Iran, we have many special cities like Isfahan, Shiraz, and Yazd, which attract thousands of tourists every year. Individuals in these cities not only gain profit from hotels and tourist attractions but also earn income from selling souvenirs and delicious local cuisine. If flights were restricted, countless jobs in hotels, restaurants, and tourism agencies would be at risk, leading to economic instability.
In conclusion, if we restrict flights to reduce petrol consumption, we will not only face difficulties in gaining knowledge and exploring new places but also experience economic problems.
