It is true that human labour is currently being raplaced by automation. Although most individuals can save their precious time from being in the office from down to dusk, the mass integration of robots into the workfoce could result in soaring unemployment rates. In my opinion, the drowbacks of replacing human effort by robots outweigh the benefits.
One of the main advantages is a better work-life balance, allowing more time for leisure. If employers have replaced by specialized machineries in the early stages of development, workers would probably have spent time with their close people and been capable of setting boudaries between work and personal life. For example, when it had implemented, a significant number of people would not have been stressed due to having so much responsibilities, which could ended up worsen their mantal health. Therefore, some individuals would have more opportunities to enjoy life and experience its positive aspects.
However, there are compelling disadvantages. The major concern is that the prospects of finding a job are likely to decline. Since people have to earn money for living and bringing up children, there should be at least one source of income in every family. For instance, as the previous research showed that in industrial cities where robot integration is high, the unemplayment rate among workers increased by 15%. This shift placed a huge burden on thousands of housholds in terms of securing an income to support their children.
In conclusion, the challenges associated with deploying robots in the workplace create pressing issues, even though several benefits still exist.
