When there are animals that are not useful for humanity, but they are rare, this can attract a large number of tourists to a place. Since these tourists need a place to stay and food to eat and the fact that they spend money at local shops to buy souvenirs can help local people make more money.
Some animals might become useful in the future. Due to burgeoning advancements in technology and scientific research, some species that might seem useless for humans, might turn out to be useful. For example, the study of the evolution of some animals might reveal scientific facts that can be useful for human beings.
In conclusion, in my opinion, all species should be prevented from extinction, whether they might seem useless or useful.
