In recent years the housing crisis has rapidly grown out of control due to the population growing over time, which has led to many people struggling to pay steep rent prices and having to live in unbearable living conditions. There are a few steps that can be taken to address this issue and provide a solution.
The main problem is that rent prices have been increasing over the years due to demand from society. Firstly, as the population grows, the need for housing will also go up, while many people’s salaries remain the same and this leads to being unable to afford rent or having to live in poor conditions. Secondly, those who own the property that is being rented are increasing rent prices without a warning or simply because they can, since there is no law stopping them from doing so. Which does not leave much room for renters to adapt and simply have to either pay the new rent prices or simply move to cheaper places, or even worse end up homeless.
One effective way of handling the price hikes of landlords increasing rent is for the government to step in and introduce laws that stop landlords or companies from changing the rent prices without a prior notice. Furthermore, there should be laws that protect the renters from such unfair actions from landlords, who are raising prices to the point where regular citizens can’t afford. Another solution is for the government to introduce new housing projects for its citizens. For instance, the government can offer reasonable apartments for people who are unable to find affordable places to live in, this way the government will make some money from renting out living spaces while keeping people from being homeless.
In conclusion, to solve the housing crisis has it keeps growing more and more as the years go by, is for the government to handle this by simply coming up with solutions and laws to protect its citizens from living in poor conditions.
