Criminal activities in many parts of the world are increasing. The main reason is the law in modern time is not strict. It is important to introduce new firm laws in countries where crime rates are high.
Nowadays the rules and regulations are established to go easy on the criminals. Many of the human rights activists prefer subtly approaches toward criminals. They believe more humaterian approach and compasio will reduce the act of crime. However, there is still increase in crime reports in many countries around the world. And because of such mindset of lawmakers the detainees are getting an open opportunity to abuse the law in their favour knowing the punishment will not be severe and they will get less jail time and free meals in prison. In many countries the living standard of prisoners is better than the lower class hard working man.
The main solution would be to impose harsser laws for convicted criminals. So that they will think the reward for comitting crime is not worth the risk of getting punished. And the other people who is thinking about getting involve in crime life will think twice. When the detainees are serving their sentences in jail it is important to make them work, rather than spending their time in cells doing nothing productive so when they get released they can still have the habit to work and it will be easy for them to find an honest work once they are back in the society. For instance, in America many prisoners work as firefighter at lower salary. It helps them to learn to make an honest living and have some money with them when they are free and they can use their specific sets of skills to get a job as fire fighter. This program does not ensure a job however, it will give them a better chance in landing a job.
To conclude, weaker laws can make people more comfortable in commiting crimes. Law are meant to be strict to prevent people fall into the world of crimes and be an example for others criminals.
