Band 5+: Many countries have compulsory military service for young men after they leave school. It would be a good idea for all countries to adopt this system for men, and possibly for women too. Do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Undoubtedly, many countries do not have enough manpower to protect their borders. Some people argue that the nations should have trained young boys and girls, once they graduate from the school, whereas Others opine against it. However, I do not agree with this notion. This essay will discuss the reasons that (support) supports my opinion in (on)this matter with an appropriate example.

There are numerous reasons why military services should not be compulsory for the youth. To start with, irrespective of the nations we belong to, everyone has inborne right to make decisions for themselves. Therefore, obliging young people to take tough training such as military work would be considered as a violation of human rights. Without any qualms, this kind of training requires physically and mentally sound person in order to take quick decisions in case of emergencies which is why training all men and women will not serve the purpose.

Conversely, one group of people states that after schooling youngsters should be trained for the military service to protect the nation in case of war-like situations. They argue that it is the moral duty of each citizen to protect the nation whenever needed. What is more, we have witnessed many countries faced(face) defeat because of lack trained soldiers at borders, and enemy country took advantage of this situation. For example, Ukraine needed to train their citizens, because of a lack of trained military staff when Russia attacked on Ukraine in the year 2022.

To sum up, it is true that protecting borders is a tiring task for many governments across the world. Nonetheless, I assert that the military service is one of the toughest tasks in the world that should be carried out by suitable individuals only.
