No doubt, a number of jobs needs some up-to-date training and fact-findings courses to keep pace with rapid developing technology. It is said by some public that better for firms to pay for such trainings, whilst others say that it is employees’ duty. This essay will discuss both sides’ arguments along with my own perception.
It is believed that it is employers responsibilities to pay for staff coaching because it can make workers productive. To explain, training always based on new developments and techniques, if company ignore to provide such lessons, then workers will be less effective in work. Instead, if firm supply such conveniences, then they will learn the latest methods and operation of the modern devices, which will make their work easy as well as staff members will be more efficient. For example, Shell International employees won 2023 best workers award because they focus on providing various trainings to their workers. Furthermore, some of the courses are expensive and workers cannot afford. It would be good, if company arrange such classes and then later cut off in monthly salaries.
On the other hand, some people say that it depends on individuals and they should pay this because it can open many career doors for them. In recent times, most of the firms hire those professionals who have technical skills and having solid command on the usage of the latest devices related to their fields. For example, majority of the oil companies recruit those individuals who have learnt the latest trending software in oil fields. Therefore, employees should learn such skills to amplify recruiting chances in other firms. Moreover, it can make them more well-rounded. If an individual want to be successful in work place, then he needs various trainings like building relations, how to handle pressure, how to write email to boss etc. and these courses will construct him to be more versatile.
To sum up, both sides have proposed valid arguments; however, I feel that if company do not agree to devote such amenities to their staff, then one should look to his future and instead of relying on employers, he should do all those courses which can take his career to a higher level.
