In today’s world, many processed food and drink products contain high levels of sugar, leading to various health issues. Sugary products should be priced higher to encourage people to consume less sugar. I agree with this notion, as there are numerous health problems associated with high sugar intake.
Currently, most supermarket products contain more artificial sweeteners, such as orange juice and snacks. Many manufacturers produce unhealthy foods that are laden with chemical pesticides. The prevalence of unhealthy food production may lead to a dependence on processed foods, resulting in diseases like obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. To address this issue, the government should implement policies to regulate the levels of chemical ingredients in products and impose fines on manufacturers who do not comply with these regulations.
Additionally, sugary products should be made more expensive to deter excessive consumption. If junk food becomes too costly, individuals may refrain from purchasing it due to financial constraints. The government should also organize training courses in workplaces and schools to educate people about the risks of consuming manufactured food. This initiative could help reduce health issues among young people, who increasingly favor processed foods like hamburgers, cola, French fries, and Pepsi. For instance, in Japan, the government has encouraged citizens to reduce sugar intake by limiting the availability of unhealthy food options.
In conclusion, the government can tackle these problems by organizing informative courses and implementing laws that impose fines on manufacturers who fail to adhere to regulations. Making processed foods more expensive will also encourage people to reduce their sugar consumption.
