Over the last few decades, the emergence of commercial flights has prompted developments in tourism industries. Numerous tourist attractions are benefitting from this development, and one of the main tourist attractions are museums.
A majority of museums charge admission fees to visitors. Admission fees are used for different purposes, such as maintainance. Although this sounds reasonable, some remain skeptical.
Critics argue that musuems should be accessible for everyone, regardless of their socie-economic background. Due to museums entailing a myriad of relics, that give a glimps into the lives of our ancestors, every individual has the right to see it. Therefore, it should be strongly prohibited from charging entry fees to visitors. This will not only benefit the whole society, but it will also contribute to economic growth. Implementing this initiative will lead to attracting more tourists, resulting in increase sales in various industries and strengthenng the country’s presence on the international stage. On the other hand, proponents have converse opinions. The preponderance of advocates believe that admission fees are one of the fundamental factors to maintaining the facility. Abolishing entry fees would have devastating impact on the visitor’s experience, eventually leading to decreased tourists.
From my point of view, the positive outweigh the negatives. Acquiring information should be widely accessible and (should) never be contraint by an individual’s financial situation. However, considering the complexity of this issue, a multifaceted approach is necessary to resolve this problem. It is imperative that we impose policies that can satisfy both parties.
