The past few decades have witnessed a dramatic increase in the occurrence of diseases related excessive consumption of junk food, a situation that has a negative impact on people’s lives. The goal of this essay is to elaborate on the causes of this dilemma, focusing on poor eating habits and the lack of awareness among individuals, and suggest possible ways to improve this situation.
The primary cause of this problem is unhealthy diets. In other words, many teenagers prefer going to food chains like McDonald’s, who consider them as their main destination in different occasions. Additionally, many people spend excessive time on their work, so they are not able to prepare healthy food after returning from their work. As a result, they order unhealthy food, such as fried chicken and pizza because it is easy and convenient. Moreover, many people lack awareness about the diseases caused due to fast food, such as heart disease and diabetes. To illustrate, many studies in Egypt have shown that, over the last ten years, the rate of obesity has doubled among children due to the faulty parenting and the lack of guidance on this issue.
In order to stem the tide of this worrying situation, I firmly believe we must address the toot causes. Perhaps the most effective method for the governments to apply penalties to companies that promote and encourage people to eat unhealthy food. Furthermore, they should educate children not only in schools but also in social media about the diseases related to bad eating habits. Also, the government should encourage home cooking by offering various species oh healthy food with high quality and reasonable prices in supermarket. For instance, the Japanese are healthier than other people because they follow a balanced diet in their lives, which is rich in fish, vegetables and nutrients.
In conclusion, understanding that the origins of the issue mainly stem from junk food consumption, faulty nutrients and the lack of awareness. Hence, it is clear that better solution can be applied for greater effectiveness, such launch a comprehensive, large-scale campaign by the government to encourage people to significantly increase their public awareness of this matter.
