Many people in undeveloped countries die from diseases that can be treated, but they do not have money to buy the medicine. I believe that drug companies in developed countries should give their medicines at lower prices in poor countries so that people do not suffer and die for no reason.
Firstly, health is a basic human right, and everyone should have access to treatment. It is not fair that some people live because they are rich or live in developed countries, while others die just because they are poor. Many of the medicines are already produced in large numbers, and it does not cost much to make extra doses. So, giving them at a cheaper price should not hurt the companies very much.
Secondly, drug companies already make a lot of profit by selling in rich countries. If they reduce prices only in poor countries, they can still balance their business. Also, helping these countries can stop the spread of diseases, which can be good for the whole world. For example, during COVID-19, it was important to help all countries, not just rich ones, because viruses can travel anywhere.
However, I also understand that these companies spend a lot of money on research and they need to earn it back. So, maybe governments and global health organizations can help with money or support so that the companies do not lose too much.
In conclusion, drug companies should do their best to make medicines cheaper in poor countries. Everyone deserves a chance to live, and saving lives should be more important than just making profit.
