Band 7+: Many people prefer fixed routines in daily life, while others prefer their day not to be fixed or unplanned. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

In today’s world, every person has a different type of lifestyle. While the majority of individuals prefer managed routines in their daily lives, others prefer their regular day to be rather flexible and not fixed. Although I acknowledge the several advantages of unplanned routine, I firmly believe that structured daily routines are better due to their effect on one’s physical and mental health.

On the one hand, some people are prone to having their day not be fixed. By following the pace of life, these individuals do not face stress and have a lot of time to dedicate to their pursued hobbies, resulting in their happiness. For example, most people who have the INFP type of MBTI and lead an unscheduled lifestyle tend to be more cheerful since they are not restricted by timetables and can immerse themselves in creative activities, including drawing and writing, without pressure to stick to a specific time of routine. However, I do not fully agree with this opinion, as some unforeseen lifestyles lead to overwhelming anxiety because they leave citizens without time to do their tasks, which compels them to accomplish them at night, negatively contributing to their well-being.

On the other hand, other kinds of personas often plan their days, creating a controlled daily schedule. This can cause reduced stress and enhanced emotional well-being, as a person can get to finish tasks without any tension, thereby having a sense of achievement and fulfillment. For instance, employees who have planning apps and stick to them showed more effective and profound results on the company’s production than those who did not. That’s why, in my opinion, having a productive and hectic lifestyle is essential for human quality of life because it not only promotes better performance but also improves their physical health with the help of daily workouts.

In conclusion, while I recognise the potential benefits of unplanned routine, I strongly believe that planned daily routines are better due to their effect on one’s physical and mental health. Governments should promote such digital media platforms that can help individuals to manage their daily tasks.
