Nowadays many people say that protecting the environment is important, but in real life many people still do not do much. People understand that the environment is getting worse, but they still do not take action. One reason for this is people are very busy with their daily life. Many people work long hours and when they come home, they feel tired. Because of this, they do not want to recycle or clean their area. They want to rest or spend time with their family. So the environment is not their first thinking.
Another reason why people do not join environmental activities is because they believe the government should do everything. They think the government is responsible for cleaning streets, rivers, and parks. Many people believe their small action is not important, so they think it is better to let the government solve all environmental problems. This thinking makes people not interested to help.
To solve this problem, maybe the government and community can make simple programmes. For example, they can have one day every week for cleaning the area. People in the neighbourhood can come and clean the street or the park. If people see others doing it, maybe they also want to join. The government can also give information to people so they understand why their action is important. If people learn more, they might change their mind.
In conclusion, many people do not join environmental activities because they are busy and because they think the government must do everything. With simple programmes and more information, people may start to help the environment.
