Nowadays, it has become a common topic that should young people follow traditions or be free to practice their own beliefs. Societies are also being shifted from collectivism to individualism. This essay highlights both point of views.
Traditions help the societies to find common grounds to get together. Due to this, people begin to know each other. The acquaintances between each other leads to solutions of challenges with a collective effort. For example, on Eid, all Muslims gather and meet each other. They get to know the problems of each other. Thus, if one person knows that other person is in problem, and he is capable to solve that problem, he aids him in that regard.
Contrary to this, there is an overwhelming belief that we should move towards individualistic society. The perks of individualism is that people practice their own thoughts. They follow the norms and customs which they feel is good for their health and mind. As a result, there is more liberty and freedom practised as a whole. In addition, people have less responsibilities also to live their own life which helps them to focus on their own lives.
If we think of the trend, the world is moving towards individualism. The traditions are being faded away leading to people being more introvert. People do not tend to take part in customs which are responsible for interactions. In Pakistan, the zeal and zest of Islamic traditions have diminished for quite a number of years.
In conclusion, both ideologies have their own pros and cons. Own should blend the both of the ideologies to find the maximum benefit.
