Today, international travel is more popular than ever. While this can be attributed to stronger global curiosity and easier international access and may bring some negative outcomes, I view this trend positively.
One major reason why many people travel to other countries is stronger global curiosity, as constant exposure to foreign cultures through social media and international media increases interest. So, individuals are more willing to visit these places in person. Another reason is easier international access. Affordable flights, simplified visa procedures, and improved transport systems have made overseas travel more convenient. Therefore, people choose to visit other countries.
There are some negatives of travelling, one of which is higher environmental damage. Large numbers of tourists increase pollution, waste, and pressure on natural resources. As a result, popular destinations suffer from long-term environmental problems. Another drawback is stronger cultural erosion. Continuous exposure to foreign visitors encourages local communities to adapt traditions to tourist preferences. This, in turn, weakens original cultural identities.
In my opinion, however, the positive side of traveling is more significant. One of the benefits of travelling abroad is broader cultural understanding. Experiencing different customs and lifestyles helps people appreciate diversity, leading to greater tolerance and open-mindedness. Greater economic growth is another reason. Tourism generates income for local businesses and creates jobs. This leads to significant development of local communities.
In conclusion, the main reasons for choosing to travel to another country are stronger global curiosity and easier international access. Although there are some negatives of traveling abroad, such as higher environmental damage and stronger cultural erosion, I believe that broader cultural understanding and greater economic growth are excellent reasons and have more positive impact.
