There is a growing tendency that employees have poor work-life balance, resulting in burnouts and detrimental effects on relationships with family relatives and bosom friends. From my perspective, the solution to this trend could be through polishing time management skills.
To start with, trying to excel in every aspect of life while working overtime can lead to negative consequences related to mental health. Individuals who are loaded with work assignments are generally investing into assignments both time and energy, and consequently have no time to spare on self-reflection. This state can damage a person’s both mental and physical health, and result in one of the worst states – burnout. Burnout is mainly associated with no life energy towards any activity, even the ones that an individual used to allocate most of their time and that made him or her feel satisfied. In addition to mental health problems, employees that overwork do not have enough time to spend with their loved ones, causing perpetual arguments and battles.
There are some ways to avoid these consequences including improving people’s time management skills. This can begin even with small steps such as planning the day beforehand and leave some space in between duties to either selfcare procedures or for quality time with people who are dear to them. Thanks to the feeling that structure provides, employees become more patient and less anxious about the upcoming day. Furthermore, possessing a diary or planner where one can openly write about their thoughts or stay on top of things, could be a fulfilling activity that boosts confidence.
To conclude, nowadays many workers have poor work ethic, which results negatively in mental stability and relationships with people around them. However, they can implement planning in their daily routines to get rid of previously mentioned issues.
