The debate of whether religion should be included in teaching process as well as academic subjects has been always brought up. Some people agree with this idea, while others consider that it will be detrimental for students.
On the one hand, religion should be definitely included in school curriculum due to it protects children starting from a young age from committing bad deeds or crime. In other words, raising the awareness about beliefs and promoting a good religious practice can help students to avoid doing mistakes such as bullying, discrimination and disrespect. As a result, they wiil be able to be more tolerate to each other and there will be less crimes commited and I totally support this idea.
On the other hand, those who think that there are some risks of teaching religion, and one of them is bias. It means that teachers can intentionally or unintentionally favor one religion over other, which may lead to students feeling pressured if they do not share a particular beliefs. Learners are not mature enough to recognize the intentions of teachers, that is why it can be detrimental for them.
Taking everything into account, although some part of the society concludes that religion is not relevant as separate subject in school, on the contrary, I personally believe that lessons related to religious practice will benefit our society in a number of ways.
