İn today’s modern world, online courses have developed very quickly and are offered by most universites and schools. Some people believe that online education can replaces face-to-face education eventually. As far as I am concerned, while online learning has some good aspects, also it has a lot of drawbacks, which they can not be ignored.
One major advantage of online classroom is that saving money and time. So, every day some students have a long way to school, and during the way, they waste time on the road because of traffic congestion and some technical problems. Also they spend much money for daily commute. But, Online lessons help learners to learn without waste time and money. Another merit is that it offers students more flexible learning environment compared to campus education. Therefore, sometimes there can be pandemic in the country, or the roads may be closed for celebrating, repair and other reasons. This time online learning help us not to miss lessons. For example, in 2020, most countries faced COVID-19 pandemic, so during pandemic all schools and universites was stopped. But everybody joined to lessons with digital classrooms. Commonly, those reasons make online lessons more productive, available, flexible compared to traditional lessons.
On the other hand, it has some demerits like technical problems. Sometimes, technical problems can cause such as internet connection, electrical problems and others. All of them lower the quality of learning process. The second bad aspect is staying away from communications. Therefore, some students avoid communications with other people. But traditional clasroom offers them to collaborate, talk, join social clubs with each others. In conclusion, e-learning sessions cause student’s social skills, teamwork ability to decrease.
To sum up, in my opininon, while digital clasroom provides more productive learning environment or save money and time, it also affects learner’s social skills. Morover, people should use it only in special time.
