Some universities are now offering online classes exclusively for bachelor’s degree programs. There are several disadvantages to this trend, such as a lack of understanding of the material and increased laziness among students. I would argue that the disadvantages can outweigh the advantages.
Nowadays, technology can significantly enhance our lives, allowing individuals to attain degrees through online learning. People do not need to go to campus, which saves time for other activities. They can prepare for classes from home and use their extra time to support their studies. Furthermore, this approach can be financially beneficial since individuals do not have to spend money on accommodation or transportation. For instance, individuals living in other cities can pursue a degree from home without spend many cost for relocate.
However, pursuing higher education without face-to-face interaction can negatively impact many students. They may not fully understand the material, and worse, it might lead to laziness among them as they feel frustrated and unmotivated to engage with their classes. For example, when students follow the same routine every day, studying in front of a computer can become stuck, making them feel bored and disinterested in listening to their teachers. As a result, they may focus on other distractions while classes are still ongoing.
In conclusion, the offering of online learning by some universities has both positive and negative impacts. From my perspective, I believe that the disadvantages, such as a lack of understanding of the material and increased laziness among collage, can outweigh the benefits.
