Band 6+: Traditional cultures will inevitably be lost as technology develops. Technology and traditional culture are incompatible. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this view?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

People usually think that technologies affect traditional culture badly, but I cannot quite determine whether I agree or disagree with this statement. The development of technologies is very important for everybody, but we should also remember our traditions.

On the one hand, with the advent of technologies, a lot of people became less outgoing, and nowadays some people just sit at home scrolling their feed, and that is why they do not really often go for a walk, and have less social contact with friends and family, so the traditional culture might be lost. There are a lot of mass media that can encourage teenagers to be in various cultures and customs, they can also make somebody think that it is shameful to follow traditional culture, these are my ideas about the bad influence of technology.

On the other hand, there are some people who live far away from their friends and family, even in another country. In this situation, technologies are really helpful. For example, the son flew off to study in another country and can only communicate with his parents and family via social media, and it is good that because of technologies we can chat with somebody who is even on another continent. Also, technology can cultivate people through social media. There are some authors on the internet who write articles about the importance of traditional culture, so more people will appreciate traditional cultures.

In conclusion, it is true that sometimes technologies have a negative impact on traditional culture and it is really awful, but in the current situation occasionally it is the only way to preserve this culture.
