In the contemporary era, leisure time has been a matter of debate, with some arguing that there is not enough time off work for employers to spend with their loved ones. In my opinion, this phenomenon stems from several reasons, which can pose a threat to our society.
First and foremost, it is widely believed that employers often opt for additional work, therefore, their spare time is reduced significantly. In other words, owing to the need for a secure career, people have to work hard in order to receive promotion from companies. For example, individuals who make greater contributions to operations will acquire higher positions, compared to those who devote less effort to companies. As a result, workers can earn higher salaries, which can satisfy their daily necessities, fostering a thriving economy. However, this trend certainly mitigates the time employers have for family activities.
Consequently, the issue may take a toll on building a sustainable society for several reasons. Firstly, the more time people dedicate to work, the fewer opportunities they acquire for bringing up their kids, directly having a detrimental effect on their families. For example, if guardians spend over ten hours working in companies, they will totally miss chances to play and teach their juveniles, which might hinder their development phase as youngsters are not raised properly. Thus, juniors may not become good citizens when they grow up if they are not equipped with essential love and knowledge. Moreover, if this problem continues to emerge, our society may face a massive drawback. To be specific, as a large number of children are not fostered well, they can become criminals, which has an adverse influence on every nation as a whole.
In conclusion, there are plenty of factors that decrease people’s free time, namely devoting time for additional work. As a result, it can detrimentally affect the whole world, as kids are not raised well.
