Modern technology has made it easier and quicker to access information. Although I admit the advantage such as quick access to learning materials, I believe disadvantage like misinformation spreading online outweighs the advantage.
There are several advantages of modern technology in accessing information. One of them is that people can find study materials quickly. In other words, when individuals use search engines and online platforms, they are able to find needed information within seconds without depending on books or waiting for teachers. Thus, learners can save time and understand topics more efficiently, which leads to better learning results and improved academic performance. As a result, learning becomes more efficient and less time-consuming. For instance, a student preparing for exams can easily watch explanations and read articles online, which helps them understand difficult topics faster.
Even though quick access to learning materials is an advantage, I believe the disadvantage outweighs the advantage for a single reason. Information online is not always accurate. In other words, many websites and social media platforms allow anyone to share content without checking facts carefully. Thus, people may read wrong information and become confused, which can affect their understanding of a topic. As a consequence, people may believe wrong information and make incorrect decisions based on it. For example, a student might use an unreliable website for a science assignment and learn incorrect facts, which can negatively affect their results.
In conclusion, I acknowledge the advantage which is quick access to learning materials. However, I firmly believe that the disadvantage outweighs the advantage as misinformation can easily spread through online platforms.
