Though there are a variety of opinions on space exploration, i believe that this contemporary feat is not all that wasteful despite that some people argue that governments could prioritise other areas of concern.
Initially, investigating space entails the use of sophisticated spacecraft and satellites. These apparatus have enabled us to improve weather forecasts for example. Harmful storms, temperatures and other adverse climatic conditions are no longer a menace to earthly life due to precise information from satellites on the space. Thus, spending money exploring the space is extremely useful to life on earth.
Furthermore, recently, USA through Elon Musk’s Space X, has invented a cheaper space-based internet across many countries. This internet is accessible everywhere on earth through Starlink apparatus. It is poised to replace the traditional internet providers who were overcharging customers. This USA based satelite exploration is poised to discover more things that are beneficial to human life.
In addition to the above discoveries, space explorations have enabled centres like NASA to discover the existence of other forms of life outside the earth. A number of non-human space-floating objects are being discovered. Recently, in the USA, for instance, UFOs were discovered. Moreover, having studied these extra-territorial non-human beings through space visits and observations, it is expedient to know whether or not they pose existential dangers to human, animal or vegetation life on earth.
In conclusion, expenditure on various space studies, visits and explorations is extremely useful for the continued preservation of life on Earth. Thus, it is not wasteful, and more should rather be put into this type of science.
