Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

It is true that many children nowadays are using the internet at a very young age and without proper supervision from adults. While the internet offers enormous educational and entertainment benefits, unrestricted access can also put children in various online dangers. Parents therefore face several challenges in controlling the internet use of their children, although actions can be taken to deal with the situation.

Several problems can be anticipated when parents cope with their children’s internet use. One major problem is that parents don’t have enough time to supervise their children’s internet activities. In modern society, both parents work full-time jobs and have many household responsibilities after work. As a result, children are left alone with their digital devices. Without parental supervision, they may spend excessive hours on social media, become addicted to video games, or communicate with strangers that put their safety at risk. Another issue is that many parents lack sufficient technological knowledge to manage their children’s internet use. Parents do not grow up surrounded by technology, so younger generations are often better at technology than adults. Consequently, Many parents do not know how to use parental-control apps, monitor browsing history, or block harmful content, making it difficult to protect their children from cyberbullying and other online threats.

There are some solutions can be taken to solve the problems mentioned above. Firstly, parents should make an effort to spend time monitoring and guiding their children’s Internet use. For example, parents may make a rule for screen time, encourage children to use digital devices in family spaces such as livingroom rather than alone in bedrooms. Therefore, parents can observe their children’s online behaviours and reduce the risk of internet addiction. Secondly, parents should improve their digital literacy to keep up with the development of technology. They can learn how to use parental-control software, set up content filters, and restrict access to dangerous websites, which helps control the content children use.

In conclusion, parents face some difficulties when dealing with children’s Internet use. However, these issues can be addressed if parents take sufficient steps to become more involved in their children’s online activities and improve their understanding of digital technology.
