With the advancement of technologies, computers and calucators are widely being used by childrens for writing and solving mathematical problems. Some people arugue that children should be restrcited to use those tools but I completly agree with this statement.
Exposing the childrens with these new technologies for their academical use such as in writing and mathematics is an easy approach to make them lazy. This not only make them independent but also resists their creativity. For instance, AI models such as chat GPT, Gemini can be a great boon for the childrens to comeplete their assignments within minutes; However chlidrens have no idea that this easy act is making them more and more dependent on the technology. Moreover, this easy stratergy will gradually decrese childrens’ ability to research, investigate and put on efforts on any topic. It is not always guranteed that they will be getting acess to these resoucrces in the future, during jobs and presentation and in this situation they would have no idea to tackle down this problem.
For skills such as writing, where emotion is an important factor and when children use techonological assistant for this they would not understanding the meaning of writing. Furthermore children would never get an opportunity to brainstrom themselves and express them through writing. Similarly, the use of calculators and computers in mathematics might be a great obstacles for the children to prohibit them to build their base in the subject matter. This can hamper their logic building and problem solving abilities. Letting children get so much dependent in these tools in such a young age can be a problematic scenario for them in the future where they cannot figure out the solution to their problem themselves.
To sum up, use of computers and calculators might make the writing and calculations more easy but it significantly makes the children more dependent in the techonlogy, resisisting them from exploring their creativity and problem solving abilities. So in my opinion we must limit the use of these assisting tools which makes them more practical and indepentdent.
