In today’s society, married people who decided to be “child-free” has become a topic of debate. Some think that this decision based on selfish reasons, while other people believe that they have specific reasons, such as a worries about overpopulation and willing for independence. Both of those opinion will be discussed in this essay.
To Begin with, couples who choose to be child-free because of their selfish reasons, such as they dont want to carry their child. Somehow they are just afraid if they can’t give good parenting or experiencing baby blues, feeling sad after giving birth. However, this mind is not completely true since there are many people who could survive from these fears and ensure the growth of their children.
In the other hand, child-free could become a solution for handling overpopulation. This though appears because overpopulation can impact to the economic of a nation. A country that has big population will become a challenge, like limited job opportunities and limited area for living. As a result, it will enhance the number of people in poverty. Therefore, not having a child in order to prevent overpopulation is more acceptable than selfish reasons, especially for certain countries that experiencing overpopulation.
