It is undeniable that most household chores are now carried out by automated robots. While there are some positive aspects to this new development, it also brings far-reaching problems that can affect the lifestyle and property of individuals.
On a positive note, automation is proven to enhance work performance by relieving staff from doing mundane and routine work such as data entry. This allows staff to focus on more essential tasks such as planning future strategies for the company. For example, Elon Musk reported to double his profits coming from Tesla, after automating process of collecting parts of cars. Moreover, robots can help households by freeing them from doing home chores, such as cleaning and cooking, resulting in families to have a sufficient amount of time to rejoice together.
However, there exist several drawbacks to automated machines, one of which is malfunctioning. In other words, regardless of how improved or perfectly designed, robots are not as perfect as humans therefore, when overloaded, they are proven to malfunction, causing accidents, like damaging properties, injuring, or even ending a human life. For instance, in 2018, my cousin became disabled, after his brand-new housekeeper robot exploded by him when it accidentally came into contact with the water. Necessarily, who is willing to shoulder the responsibility when this is the case? The manufacturers or the customers themselves?
In conclusion, while I acknowledge that there exist some advantages of automated machine force, in my opinion, they are still flawed and can not be as perfect as humans.
