Band 6+: More children in developed countries are becoming overweight. This is a serious problem for wealthy countries. Discuss some causes and effects of this problem

Children in developed countries are becoming overweight, which is one of the most pressing concerns facing the world today. There are several causes for this issue, and effective steps can be taken to address it.**

**A wide range of factors is responsible for the increasing rate of childhood obesity. One significant cause is the high consumption of fast food and junk food, such as pizza, noodles, and burgers. This dietary choice is a primary reason for children becoming overweight. For instance, in my country, many children eat junk food at restaurants every day, often preferring it over home-cooked meals. As a result, many are becoming obese.**

**Another reason is that today’s children are generally less interested in physical exercise. This lack of activity hampers their physical health, as regular exercise is crucial for maintaining fitness. For example, children often spend more time on smartphones than engaging in physical activities. Consequently, this leads to laziness and increased dependency on technology, reducing their overall physical activity.**

**On the other hand, being overweight affects individuals’ lives in many ways. It can severely impact health, leading to various issues such as diabetes and high cholesterol. Without proper awareness and care, maintaining physical fitness becomes extremely difficult. Overweight children may struggle to succeed in their personal and academic lives. Similar to how an unhealthy adult cannot perform well at work, these children can experience frustration, mental stress, and hindered future success.**

**In conclusion, obesity will continue to be a significant problem unless individuals become more aware of their health. By avoiding junk food and reducing technology dependency, people can achieve a healthier lifestyle
