The majority of artists do not gain enough money and because of that, they should receive funding from the government so they can proceed with their work.
In my opinion, the government should encourage the artists and select some artists to invest in their works to create a spirit of competition among the artists, making them want to be more productive. Funding artists and their artworks is important for several reasons, Firstly, it is considered to be an identity for the nation, and arts in general such as paintings, music, sculptures, and literature are always a reflection of the country’s growth.
Moreover, good arts will help attract more tourists to the country which means the government will gain more money from the tourism sector.
However, the arts are important and it is a good approach from the country to specify an amount of money for funding artists but, the government should prioritize the needs of the country for example more important sectors like healthcare, education and infrastructure these sectors government must be sure they are getting enough money to develop and make sure that they are already in a good place before start funding arts as without good healthcare system, education and infrastructure there will no good artists.
To sum up, funding artists and investing in their works is important but first, the government need to cover other important sectors and their needs and also review the artists’ works to create a competition and invest only in the work that deserves that money.
