In this day and age, it is sometime asserted that global tourism has negative influences on people’s life and the environment. Although there will undoubtedly be some negative consequences of this tendency, societies can take steps to mitigate these potential problems.

As international travel is becoming increasingly popular, several related problems can be anticipated. The foremost problem is that the international tourism place a great strain on local infrastructures. This is because the massive number of foreign visitors going to big cities or tourist attractions is a burden to transport system. From that, serious traffic congestions are likely to occur. Further pressures will include a rise in environmental degradations. The increasing number of tourists can lead to pollutions in the vicinity. For example, the more visitors to Nha Trang city in Viet Nam, the more boat trips are organized. When boats are operated, sewage and hazardous materials are discharged into the water, thus contributing to water pollution.

Since such issues are serious, the government and individuals shoould immediately take steps to address these problems. The first solution would be to introduce a cap on limited amount of tourists overseas. The government may allow a max of 1000 tourists each day to visit tourist destinations as well as go on boat trips, which can reduce negative impact on the environment. A second measure would be for the governments to promote ecotourism activities, such as kayaking, wildlife observations, and cultural tours. These activities not only minimize the influence on natural habitats, tourists do not generate waste or disturb the local ecosystem, but also promote a sense of community and conservation.

In conclusion, various measures can be taken to tackle the problems that are certain to arise as the popularities of global travel are increasing.
