Band 8+: Most of the urgent problems can only be solved with international cooperation. Do you agree or disagree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Nowadays, there is an ongoing trend that crucial problems can only be preserved through global cooperation. I strongly agree with this statement for several key reasons.

On the one hand, climate change is a global issue that requires joint action from multiple countries; it does not affect just one country, which is why cooperation is necessary. In other words, if one country tries to reduce carbon emissions but other countries do not, the problem continues without effect. For instance, the United Kingdom has an unusual technology that can capture carbon emissions to clean the air. However, other countries may not prioritize climate change. Consequently, climate change is a fundamental problem for every country. Cooperation is the best way to find a solution.

On the other hand, multinational cooperation is essential to control global pandemics; pandemics are not a problem for only one country. That is to say, infections are contagious and dangerous. Officials can control the spread of infections through discussions with each other. Moreover, countries exchange their vaccines with one another. For example, Covid-19, which was one of the most dangerous infections in the world, was controlled by interaction among countries. If Covid-19 had not been addressed by science, humans might have died out. Hence, nations should cooperate on global problems.

In conclusion, global challenges such as climate change and pandemics cannot be effectively addressed by individual countries alone. Only through international cooperation, sharing resources, knowledge, and technology, can these urgent problems be managed successfully. Therefore, working together across nations is essential to protect both the planet and humanity.
