There is a dispute about whether state museums should focus on exhibiting local artworks rather than exotic ones. I believe exhibiting domestic artworks should be a priority, although we should also be aware of exotic artworks.
Individuals should acquire knowledge from various cultures. Nowadays, art galleries allow citizens to access exotic artworks, encouraging youngsters to explore their passion for art and absorb knowledge from it. In addition, some people are inspired to learn about exotic lifestyles and languages. For instance, in my country, people who are keen on Vincent Van Gogh are inquisitive about Holland and might travel there.
Nevertheless, each generation must be aware of its roots. Many museums neglect artworks created by their ancestors because citizens are usually inattentive about them. On the contrary, visitors are usually enchanted with local work, because they want to learn more about another country. Contribute to the economy as the local government manages to gather more visitors.
In conclusion, it is more advantageous for museums and art galleries to exhibit local art; however, they should not neglect foreign works.
