In the era of advanced technology, traditional purchasing and transaction methods have been gradually replaced. I agree with this ongoing phenomenon with evidence, namely mobile payment and online shopping. In the following essay, I am going to expand upon my ideas and provide supporting details.
From my point of view, technology evolves rapidly and makes a significant change in the way that individuals make payments, such as through mobile payments. This innovation makes transactions faster and easier due to the reason that it only requires a smartphone. Also, it can avoid situations such as shoppers who forget or bring less money when they check out at the counter. For instance, in a China survey undertaken in 2022, around 80% of civilians and shopkeepers were willing and preferred to use this kind of payment instead of cash.
On the other hand, the internet which has been in our daily lives comprehensively. In this circumstance, online shopping has become customers’ priority choice rather than going to a physical store. The benefit of this is that buyers can access their needs at home and compare prices of merchandise while browsing the websites. With this development, buyers do not have to head out for grocery shopping in higher-price retail shops. For example, in a recent poll in Taiwan, 78% of civilians tend to purchase items online instead of going on physical shopping.
In conclusion, with the state-of-the-art innovations, I believe these switches in consuming behavior like E-payment and online purchasing would lead both customers and sellers to great conveniences.
