Modern technology have altered the way children spend their leisure time. Here, “technology” refers to finding new knowledge in science field by researching. In this essay, I will argue that technology changed the way children spend free time with grater benefits despite some drawbacks. To explore this idea, I will discuss the benefits of new technology such as, enhanced children globalization knowledge, and increased the educational support for all kind of subjects and as a drawback declined the interaction of family members.
One major benefit of new technology is its global knowledge. When using new technology, children can easily access to more websites without obstacles, which increases their general knowledge around the world. For example, A study conducted by the ASDH institute in the United States found that 98% of students who intended to use new technology during their free time performed better than those do not use any technology. This highlights that new technology is more beneficial for children without any doubt.
Another significant advantage of children using modern technology is that it supports to improve their education. In contemporary society, there are many apps and platforms introduced to increase children education as fun games. To instance, Apps like Duolingo, LLXT, offer systematic language lesson in the forms of games, which students of all ages can use. This evidence again proves that new technology is more advantage for children.
However, relying on new technology shows some disadvantages such as a decline relationship between children and family members. When children glued to the screen, they cannot control the time with they spend with it and this situation crate issues in the family. In childhood, communication and relationships with their family members specially with parents are more important for their development. Addiction to modern technology creates problems for this connection. To illustrate, some children addicted to computer games as they are fail at the exams without spending more time to study. This reason shows that depending more on new technology is offers drawbacks in some ways.
In this essay , I have discussed that relying on new technology offers more advantages such as, improving children’s global knowledge and supporting their education , while acknowledging disadvantages such as, decreased interaction with family members. As I consider, although there are some issues, by controlling them we can enjoy only advantages of new technology.
