In these days, crime news is widely being reported accross the world, causing fear among public. Hence, some individuals start thinking that these kind of reports should be excluded. While crime related news can be advantageous to some regards, I completely disagree they should be excluded from the news coverage.
Crime related news plays a vital role in society. One of their positive points is that it encourages people to stay aware, as they watch shows and read news on Tv and social media about crime circumstance. This news may work as a warning to prevent from these unexpected situations and make individuals take appropriate precautions. For instance, a person who is aware of offensive threat starts to install cameras, alarms and other personal protective measures which help control their properties. Consequently, this range of precautions make people feel calm and increase feeling of safety.
Furthermore, crime related news can make a diffirence to goverment. The high figures of crime incidents make goverment feel increased responsibilty. Showing crime news constantly would help goverment perceive how frequent and severe the crime rate is, it may encourage them to take action and try to avoid these problems. For example, goverment may introduce a new law aim at punishing those who caught while committing a crime. In turn, this type of severe punishments would positively affect to reduce, or at least control crime incidence .
In conclusion, I completely agree that they shouldn’t be banned from the news coverage as long as they help increase public awareness and encourage goverment to make new laws.
