People have different view on whether the experiments on animals to discover new medication should be preferred or it should be banned because the act of using animal for our own betterment is morally wrong. Both are correct in their own place but I believe that experiments are opt to be done on animals for human benefits.
On the one hand, we should not forget that animals have feelings and they are hurt too. When the experiment is done on animals, they often suffer severely. For example, a guinea pigs on science lab are being experimented daily to discover new medicines which may cure human diseases but during this process they have to suffer a lot. Another example has to be of a rat which are tested to explore the possibility of discovering new formula. Having seen this from third person view is really devastated. Thus, from this perspective experiments on animals need to be reduce or if possible banned.
On the other hand, before using directly on human body, it is better to use those new medication on animals. It is because animals like rats, guinea pigs, dog are abundant in nature. Similarly, being mammal their body’s nature is sort of similar to human body. To illustrate, a successful experiment done on guinea pigs can be done on human and chance of success is relatively high. Other reason could be, doing direct research on human body is also strictly prohibited by the laws. Thus, experiments on animals might be beneficial for humanity.
In conclusion, although animals suffer a lot during those experiments and tend to die, because of their abundance and nature similar to human, I think that experiments are done on animals for humanity benefit.
