Some people argue that children nowadays are spending excessive amount of time watching video contents and playling virtual games, which negatively affect their mental abilities. I entirely agree with this view bacause constent interaction with televisions and video games not only degrades children’s ability to keep attention, but also make them isolated from community.
A prolonged media consumption and gaming often affects young children’s ability to stay attentive. Video games and TV programs typically include interesting stories, characters, and graphsics, making the experience exciting and mentally stimulating. However, when they are exposed to real-life activities, such as study or exercise, they feel boring, making it difficult to stay motivated and consistent. For example, neurologists suggest that digital games and movies results in significant amount of dopamine release compare to reading books. As a result, students are now finding it difficult to stay consistent to their studies, illustating the negative sides of media consumption.
In addition, younger childrens may go through emotional isolation. When children spends excessive time on television and comuter monitors, they generally have less opportunity to go outside. Over time, if this trend continues, childen may find difficult to interact with people and suffer from anxiety during social gatherings. For instance, psychologists suggest that limited exposure with friends and family members is a key factor behind cardiobvascular disease, highlighing the negative impact of mental health.
In conclusion, I believe that spending a lot of time watching TV and playing computer games leads to mental complications, as it affects children’s ability to keep attention and leads to soical isolation.
