Although this development brings some convenience, the drawbacks of losing local culture outweigh the benefits.

Secondly, another reason is modern architecture, as many cities uses similar materials and building designs, making them look alike. For example, glass skyscrapers can be seen in many cities around the world.
On the positive side, there are some benefits when cities look alike. First, it is convenient for tourist. For example, if a traveler sees a famous brand like McDonald’s or Starbucks, they feel safe because they already know the food and the prices. This makes traveling easier. Second, it shows modernize development. Many cities use the same modern style because it is practical. New structures and transport systems are built using the best technology, which makes life more comfortable for people living there.
On the other hand, there are major disadvantages to this trend. The main problem is the loss of cultural identity. When every city has the same buildings, they lose their unique history and traditional style. This makes traveling less exciting as different countries start to look the same. For example, in many historical city in Europe or Asia, old traditional constructions are being replaced by shopping malls and glass offices. Another negative point is that local businesses suffer. Small local shops and traditional restaurants cannot compete with big international brands. As a result, many local, unique products might disappear forever.
In conclusion, I think that cities becoming more similar has more disadvantages than advantages. Even though it is convenient for tourists, losing local culture and history is a big problem. In my opinion, every city should try to keep its unique style and traditions.
