These days, companies within several countries regard the duration of work history as more valuable than knowledge. Personally, I adamantly believe that the positive effects of this idea is more crucial than the drawbacks.
Although wisdom is a fundamental facet for building a successful company, experience can tackle certain spots that knowledge can not. For instance, hiring an elder employee who has been through various roles in different organizations might be a more effective troubleshooter for a detrimental chronic problem than an inexperienced newcomer with a master’s degree. Additionally, with a greater understanding of the system, seasoned workers tend to be more cautious and aware of the prospects of demanding contexts, such as when cooperating with another company, working on a high-stakes project, and observing colleagues when corruption erupted.
On the contrary, there are some downsides to valuing experience over knowledge. Throughout modern studies, several cases have shown that companies which vastly rely heavily on experience, coupled with an older employee population, have resulted in less popularity and income in recent decades. This is due to the contrasting ideals between the transformation world and the experienced senior workers. In other words, when it comes to production, prioritizing experience might be less vital in comparison to knowledge. Moreover, praising background experience could indirectly cause the devaluation of wisdom, further leading to the lack of development and inquiry within an organization.
In conclusion, the advantages of valuing the amount of past work are more efficient resolving ability and more working awareness, whilst some disadvantages are the lack of innovation and the degradation of the value of wisdom. In my opinion, sometimes experience comes with insightful ideas that could be a key factor to skyrocketing an organization’s success, and with a greater degree of experience in a company, the fewer the mistakes and the more the variety and articulation will be for the working performance and the mindset within the company. Hence, I think that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.
