Opinion

Band 7+: Nowadays, famous people are know for their lavish lifestyle rather than ther work, this sets a bad example among the youth. Give your opinion on the topic.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In today’s day and age, more importance is placed on the outward appearance of celebrities and the stylish lifestyle they lead as compared to their work ethic, setting a bad example to the youth. I partially agree with this idea.

We live in a society where social media dictates most people’s actions. Famous people are known for living a high-end life and for them it is imperative to post everything online and capitalize on their looks. I am of the opinion that this is not always a bad thing. For instance, some people get inspired by their favorite celebrity’s posts and work hard every day in the hopes of living a lavish lifestyle themselves one day.

On the other hand, I think that good work is more important than simply living a lavish lifestyle. Onlookers tend to forget about the amount of hard work it took for celebrities to reach the level they are at today. Most of them dedicate their entire life to their craft but we as audience get fixated on the glamorous part. Take the example of the famous Bollywood and Hollywood actress Priyanka Chopra. She has a great social media presence but works just as hard to maintain her extravagant life.

In conclusion, I opine that celebrities living their best life isn’t necessarily a bad thing and it depends on the audience’s perception and how they choose to react to it. For some people it sets a bad example and only a few get motivation out of this. The general crowd should strive to be the latter.
