It is widely claimed that not enough students choose science subjects in universities in many nations and this affects society. In this essay, I will discuss the reasons and the effects of this situation towards society.
There are many common reasons why people choose other subjects over science in universities, one of them is that science subjects such as the biology require too much knowledge. In this subject, students need to learn about human bodies, substances in medicines, or functions in each body parts, which is not easy for students to remember all of them. Another reason is that some careers like doctors or scientists need to take many years and fees to study and this makes students easily get bored during the courses or their families do not have stable finances to pay for university.
In my opinion, this situation affects society very much. Due to lacking students who learn science subjects, it can lead to a lack of medics, electricians, etc and society will be turned upside down cause there are not enough workers in scientific field. Also without people who are scientists, it is hard to understand what the real problems are going on world or change for the world better.
In conclusion, not enough people choose science subjects due to their high requirements can lead to an issue to society due to lacking doctors, electricians, etc. From this
perspective, I believe that students also need to focus on science subjects cause they are very important for our society and future.
