Technology is flourishing in leaps and bounds by providing us with new expériences and convenience which leads scientists and tourists to enjoy tourism remotely. I agree to this on a large extent, as its advantages outweigh disadvantages in my perspective. In this essay, I will argue the significant impacts of virtual tourism on various sectors of society.
To begin with, travelling to remote natural places has numerous benefits. First of all, many countries get offended with the way tourists litter irresponsibly while contaminating soil and water. A great plunge in air quality is also observed due to pollution caused by transportation. When people choose to pay virtual visists, natural resources can be conserved to a great extent. Secondly, there is a possibility to develop strained relationship between countries. For example, when a visitor is ridiculed or culturally mocked by people of host country, it causes a a negative impact on relationship shared though it does not occur often. Virtual visits avoid such tension between nations. Furthemore, global tourists come with the risk of speading infectious and contagious ailments that can be drastically reduced.
On the other hand, tourism promotes global cooperation, mutual trust and cross-culture benefits when experienced in the conventional way. It also includes services such as accomodation, entertainment, and hospitality which offers full scale employment of job opportunities in respective sectors. But, traditional way of tourism causes a serious threat to natural resources due to increased usage by global visitors. In addition to that, damages to historical landamarks and pilgrimage centres can also be observed.
To summarise, it can be reiterated that though tourism promotes global harmony with increased economy, it eventually causes authenticity loss that has negative impact on local individuals, visitors and society. Hence, I strongly recommend to enjoy tourism remotely while preserving existing resources and monuments.
