In the contemporary society, the sporting industry has grown into a highly profitable sector, with professional athletes and sponsored companies can earn an unprecented amount of money in both financial and various aspects. From my perspective, although I acknowledge that this phenomenon may bring about some positive developments in many multiple groups, I strongly believe it represents a largely negative development for the true spirit and integrity of sports
On the positive side, the commercialization of sports of sports provides enormous financial resources, which allows a whole lot of large clubs to have access to better training facilities. With a huge amount of money collected after football tournaments, especially when it can attract significant public engagement, athletes completely can choose suitable private trainers, seek for hearty and nutrious meals in order to improve their both physical and mental health. As a result, they not only can boost their productivity for later matches but also avoid depression when facing with financial difficulties. Moreover, companies operating within sport industry often receive intensive exposure to viewers when they are televised in social platforms. This means that customers may easily to pay attention to them, as these companies can gain a better fundraising to sustain their necessities. For instance, companies leaning towards cultural values of their countries can showcase their nation’s image, traditions, and cultural identity to cultural worldwide
On the minus side, these advantages come as a prohibitive cost. When sports become heavily profit- driven, commerical interests might inadvertently outweigh athletic values. This issue may be easily occurred when companies entail an excessive focus on bringing their images to gain commercial benefits from the matches. Therefore, they turn athlete into main points to exploit, especially when their private life are commercialized. Hence, athlete are more prone to suffering from pressures from the public, thereby deteriorating their mental health as well as distorting the true spirit value of sports. Even though the sport industry can have a substantial growth, it generate significant disparities in wealth. This means that football, basketball become a popular choice for people, receive a huge financial investment and help them dominate the country. By contrast, less well-known sports often struggle due to the lack of sponsorship, leaving athletes with limited opportunities to develop their potential.
In conclusion, while sport industry is a big business that might help athletes and many objectives to make a huge earnings, it is also important for us to consider for some negative effects that it causes, especially when it diminishes the true value of sport and create inequality between different fields as well
