Modern art is being enhanced by technologies in different aspects, including creative designs, painting, and cinematography. In my opinion, this is both a positive and negative development. The advance in technology may improve the work lives of people who are working in any branch of art. However, it could also limit their potential for artistic development.
A major reason for the development of technology is to be able to reduce difficulties in usage. If we’re talking about modern art, technology also plays a big part in making work easier for designers or creators since technologies have a much bigger space, such as tools or equipment for creating art which is harder to manage in real life. For example, many creative apps, software, and websites are available online for anyone to use.With the assistance of these online tools, filmmakers would feel less complicated in the process of editing their films. May it be the settings, the effects, or the coloring, they would feel rest assured either way.
On the other hand, working entirely with only digital art may set a limit to an individual’s development in skill as a creative artist. As artists continue to rely on and seek assistance from digital tools, there might be a possibility that traditional art methods in creating paintings, sculptures, etc; will become outdated and forgotten. For instance, digital tools allow works to be edited quickly and sometimes may come off as unrealistic, making all the feedback on the work have less value since it’s conducted by AI and not humans. As a result of this digital use, artists may neglect their training and practices that are necessary for their growth and instead count on technologies that do not improve their creativity but give quick results.
To conclude, while technology offers countless benefits with different techniques, it also has challenges that can restrict an individual’s progress in art.
