Nowadays, a population of progressive coutries widely suffers from health issues, such as obesity. Regarding obesity, a bunch of solutions have been proposed: from an introduction of mandatory physical excercises in the work places, to an installation of outside amenities such as parks and squares. This essay will delve into the advantages and disadvantages of these proposals and draw evidences to support author’s opinion
Firstly, one of the least forceful measurements is implementation of outdoor fascilites. This can provide more space for city dwellers, thus, they will be more encouraged to walk outside, take a breathe and, perhaps, do some activity. However, examples show that people will not tackle their weigh problems only if some place is available for them. For example, in the USA which is considered to be rich, citizens with lawns are unlikely to use them properly, and obesity problem remains intact. Therefore, such a weak methods will not lead to satisfactory
Conversaly, including an exercises in working schedule, by force, may have positive outcome. From the first glance, it will make people more active amidst their sedentary work, that means addressing the problem of overweighing. Moreover, if individuals’ weigh is also considered before hiring, people will be encouraged to work on their appearance and health more. However, despite all the merits, there are also social drawbacks. First one is probable bulling caused by health issues, second one is displeasure among people because of mandatory activities. Therefore, even though this may be a great solution for the problem, it might become a new reason for some other issues
To sum up, whether the solution is by free will or not, there would be disadvantages along with efficacy. That, in my opinion, every country should choose the best fitting measure looking back on their individual case.
