It is evident that in recent decades, it has become very common to encounter people suffering from an ongoing condition known as being overweight. In my view, this is caused by several factors, including careless eating habits and an inactive lifestyle, the solutions to which will be discussed in this essay.
There are various reasons why some individuals become overweight, the first being poor dietary habits. To explain, it is often observed that people who work long hours from early morning until late at night, or those who are unable to prepare meals for themselves and their families, tend to rely on fast food because it is both convenient and affordable. A possible solution is for individuals to place greater importance on maintaining a healthy and balanced diet. This involves consuming a range of nutrients, such as vitamins, proteins, and carbohydrates, as they play a key role in managing body weight.
Another significant cause of obesity is a sedentary lifestyle. In other words, individuals who lead inactive lives and spend a large amount of time in front of screens or resting on the sofa are likely to burn fewer calories than those who engage in regular physical activity, which results in weight gain. This issue can be addressed by increasing awareness of its serious consequences and encouraging people to incorporate different forms of exercise into their daily routines, such as running, jogging, swimming, or other activities that keep the body active. Furthermore, it is essential for individuals to maintain a balance between the energy they consume through food and the energy they expend through physical activity in order to reduce the risks associated with being overweight.
In conclusion, I believe that the sharp rise in the number of people struggling with obesity is a serious concern, and unless individuals begin to adopt regular physical activity along with healthier eating habits, it is highly likely that this problem will continue to grow over time.
